Your prayers stay on your phone.

Rosa is a Rosary prayer app made by Aziano Studios Ltd. There is no account, your prayer history and intentions never leave your device, and the little usage data we collect is not linked to you and can be turned off.

Who we are

Aziano Studios Ltd (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for Rosa. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17469489, with our registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].

What stays on your device

Your prayer history and progress, the intentions you write, and your settings are stored only in Rosa on your iPhone or iPad. We cannot see them and they are not sent to us or to anyone else. They may be included in your device’s own iCloud or computer backups, which we cannot access. If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it.

Reminders, including one before a free trial ends, are scheduled by your device as local notifications; we do not use a server to send them.

Usage data

To understand whether Rosa is working for people, the app sends a small number of events to PostHog, our analytics provider, which stores the data in the European Union. They record when the welcome and subscription screens are viewed, the choices you make during setup (such as your reason for praying, whether you read or listen, and whether reminders are on, but never what you write), whether you have subscribed before, when plans fail to load, when prayers are started, how far you got and roughly how long they took, and when the app is installed, opened or updated.

Each event carries a random identifier created by the app and basic app and device information, such as the app version, language and device model. Events are not linked to your name, email or Apple Account, IP addresses are not collected, and we never send your intentions or anything else you type. We do not track you across other apps or websites or use the data for advertising.

You can turn this off at any time in Rosa under Settings › Share usage data. When it is off, the app sends no usage data.

Subscriptions and purchases

Rosa offers an auto-renewing subscription, sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details or Apple Account.

We use RevenueCat, based in the United States, to check and restore your subscription, using a random identifier and your App Store purchase and renewal details. When usage data is on, RevenueCat also receives the app’s usage data identifier so we can count trials alongside usage.

Why we use this information

Under UK and EU data protection law we use subscription information to provide the subscription you bought (performing our contract with you), and usage data to understand how Rosa is used so we can improve it (our legitimate interests). We do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell your information. PostHog and RevenueCat process it only on our behalf and must protect it to the standard in this policy.

How long we keep it

Usage data is deleted after at most 12 months. RevenueCat keeps subscription records for as long as needed to provide your subscription and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Information on your device is kept until you delete it or the app.

International transfers

RevenueCat processes subscription data in the United States under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy. Because we do not know who you are, we usually cannot match usage or subscription records to you; if you contact us, we will help where we can. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

Rosa is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Rosa uses information, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
